Is it normal to be scared to go to sleep?

Not like the action of sleeping but rather the process of going to bed and closing your eyes. I always feel like somethings lurking over me and I don't like to feel vulnerable. Maybe it's my fear of the dark speaking but being scared to go to sleep is only recent. So is it normal?

it's normal to feel like you're being watched while sleeping because you are, by Baphomet and the spirits of his apostles. They protect us while we slumber. do not fear them, embrace them!

I'm scared to go to sleep too, from a combination of the "being watched" feeling and nightmares.

Neurological disorder, probably from orphaned genes. Your brain when it can't hear something completely tries to make sense of it, even if it converts it to something nonsensical. It's very normal in people with other neurological disorders. in fact I have it, although mine like to breathe heavily and shout at me in another language if I go to sleep. If not its an overactive God complex (ironic since you are an atheist).

The first part makes a lot of sense. It seems like the most accurate explanation. Thanks!

It will pass. Especially when you learn what's makes a good day for you. It will rest you quick and lovingly.
