Is it normal to be scared that my dreams predict the future?

I bought a dream encyclopedia when it was on sale just for fun about a month ago, I don't generally subscribe to these theories but I like to be open minded so I bought the book to see what it was like. The next night I had a dream, so I looked it up and apparently it's symbolic of something negative that might happen in my future, and it kind of freaked me out even though I don't really believe in things like that, is this normal?

    The power of suggestion is one of the most normal things there is. It's how we're built.

    I don't understand why you would use a book to derive meaning from your dreams. Just because somebody wrote a book doesn't mean they have authority on the meaning of all dreams. Your dreams may have meaning but they are your dreams and it is up to you to determine what they mean to you

    hmm I had a recurring dream, about 10 years ago now, that I'll never forget.
    For weeks on end I had this dream of a silhouetted face appearing through gas smoke and the words;
    "About all is gas"
    The dream puzzled me.

    I then found out that my friend's brother had committed suicide by gassing himself in his car. The dreams stopped. Thinking harder about my recurring dream, seeing that it was relative, I realized that when you reverse "about all is gas" it reads;
    "gas is all about."

    I still shiver when I think about that.
