Is it normal to be scared of women even tho i'm a woman?

Until I was 21, every female friend I had was trustworthy. I moved and had to make new friends. One "friend" was very abusive to me, playing manipulative games & eventually physically hurt and later stalked me. I finally got away after about a year of this and changing numbers and locations. It only happened with this one person. IS it normal for me to be afraid of most women to the extent that I actually haven't made any new female friends since?

    Hell yes! A female friend stalked you... You should try making guy friends. Your guy friends will either rape you or protect you from that stalker. Make sure u choose the 1s that wont rape u.

    I voted no, not to be mean or harsh, I know we all have fears well founded or otherwise, but one experience shouldn't ruin life for you. As others have said talk to the police and psychiatrists, but go out and make new friends.

    You know your story sounds alot like the movie that's coming out called the neighbor! My Freind was abusive to me she did terrible things so we had to stop being friends! Wait..... We were never friends! I would say it's normal because it's something ppl go through after a traumatising or drastic event in their life! I would say it's normal!

    Of course it's normal. The old friendships, the good ones, don't scare you because they are solid and familiar and comforting. The reason you aren't making new female friends is simple- that one girl, who hurt you and terrorized you, was a NEW friendship. An unknown person, unfamiliar territory that went horribly wrong.

    You are rationalizing the fear by subconsciously telling yourself that all new friendships will end badly, because the old ones did not and the one new friendship you did get managed to sabotage your life.
