Probably not normal. But maybe my lack of significant relationships stems from pushing most guy's away. I don't easily trust people. How does one overcome this fear of falling in love. To me it seems that people who fall in love become either obsessed, idiotic, and sometimes just plain crazy. Then afterwards just heartbroken.
So you admitted that your instincts tell you this is abnormal then you let us know that the reason is because "I don't easily trust people".
What is it you REALLY want from us?
I agree. I fell in love once. Love seems to cause all the pain and hurt in my life. Left me heartbroken. Better off not in love I say, sure it brings a lot of good feelings, but also bad ones. Stay safe, stay away from love.
You can always be disappointed, no matter for how many times you someone. I dont have the key of the "no fear to fall in love". But sometimes you can met people with who you are willing to take the risk they break your heart. You anyway do not be intimate, share a lot with someone and not fall in love. It is up to you to never keep a patner (and in this case you are better having friends because there is times you will feel lonely) or try to let somebody who love you ease this fear.
it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. corny but true.
life is about risks. would you rather think back and have all those wonderful memories or think back and wonder what if..... i would rather have the memories than regret not doing anything.
It can be difficult to trust someone, even moreso after you've been stung a few times. But it's like anything in life - you take the risk because sometimes you win.
