Is it normal to be scared of being hit in the face?

I have a fear of being hit in the face. It could be with anything: a fist, soccer ball, tennis ball, etc. It is becoming so bad that i flinch no matter what if someone pretends to throw/kick/swing/punch at my face. Im am developing a sort of paranoia now, like when one of my friends raises their fist, i flinch badly only to see that hes just taking a drink of coffee. I dont like to play soccer because of this, and i even flinch when a pillow is thrown in my direction. What the hell is wrong with me???

I flinch too, but only when i know or am really convinced that something is flying towards my face. However, I do not flinch if somebody is just simply picking up something. It seems that you may be just a bit paranoid. But who knows? Maybe over time your phobia will start to decrease rather than increase.

Not to worry, it just means you're a pussy, that's all. Unles you beaten as a child or spouse, then, it's just flash-backs. Either way, it's curable. If your will is strong enough.

Its normal. If you're afraid of getting hurt its only natural to brace yourself when you feel scared.

  • I'm the same OMG! No, really. I could never play football because I always afraid that a player would kick the ball right in my face when passing to another player. As kids like to relly give the ball a good old smack, the speed it goes at makes me afraid to get in the way of it.
