I am absolutely petrified of 2012. The year, the movie, just everything. Is the world going to end? Where did people get this information? It just freaks me out.
The world was suppost to end new years 2000. We're still here, so hey If it ends in 2012 we got 12 extra years we most definitly didn't deserve. It's normal to be scared of the unknown- December 21, 2012. No telling what will happen, so get out your iPhone and go to starbucks Twitter away, there may not be much time left
I've got this buddy that has a recurring dream in which he dies at the age of 29. He claims to have experienced this dream for as long as he can remember. It just so happens that he will turn 29 in 2012. However, he is not normal. I can only deduce that his fear is irrational and because he is not normal thus your fear is not normal and irrational. Fearing death is like fearing poop. They are both inevitable therefore there should be no fear associated with it. Unless you are constipated, in which case be afraid, be very afraid.
I have two points to make:
1) I read an article that said that due to an error, we thought the Mayan calendar ended on 2012. It actually ends in 50-100 years, so... yeah.
2) Mayan priests, when they made a prediction, made sure that they'd be right. If they said to a guy: "you'll be married next month", they'll arrange it with a girl. Now, when they predicted the end of their civilization, the people panicked the day before the end and destroyed their own villages, suicided, etc. Resulting in the actual end of their civilization. The two possibilities for 2012 I can think of is either:
- There's enough people believing in the apocalypse to panic like the Mayans
or
- WW3 starts and ends up in a nuclear apocalypse.

but its not gonna happpen. the mayans predicted it but they thought they were gonna live forever too and theyre extinct noww. an they were totally cannibals so i soooo dont believe itt
This is stupid. If you're older than 16 you should worry (about your education). The 2012 thing comes from the end of a major age of the Mayan calendar, nothing more. Do some research, then if you still have the fear at least you'll know it's irrational.
2012 is just a myty personally i dont believe in it...the theory that i do believe is that the mayans never predicted the end of the world when you start a calendar and you end it. You start a new one, i heard that in the 90s we entered the 4th dimesion meaning people got smarter and technology is better 2012 is just like that. And it sounds cool that we are entering the 5th dimension! So dont be scared, its the rebirth o the world(:
They just ran out of room on the stone. There are probably more Mayan calenders somewhere. Besides, it's 2014.
Well there's a new one out there that it's going to end this May, so let's see what happens.
its a scientific fact that mayans were Cannibals and they invented one of the early styles of basketball , they melted metal into a metal ring 1m x 1m size nailed it to the tree sideways and then played with the heads of excuted prisoners .
Well it wasnt quite basketball the main point was that you got a point when you got the head through the circle and it was used for gambling .
So im pretty sure they can get some things right ,but i dont believe in 2012 and if it comes it comes and theres nothing you can do about it .

The world might end in 2012. The earth might end next week. Your world might come to an end tomorrow. Fear of such things isn't healthy or wise whether you believe in the prophecy/theory/whatever or not. Don't fear what you can't control.
In the year 2012 around the end of December or so the Mayan calendar dies end but it doesn't mean the end of the world. It means change though. At this time all the planets are going to perfectly line up also. We could experience phenomenal weather changes when this happens due to increased magnatization between the moon, earth and other planets being perfectly aligned. I am actually looking forward to this. I Dont think the world will end though. Hope not. You can google this and get Info about this stellar planetary feat and you won't be so afraid anymore and may look forward to it also.
The worlds computers were going to crash, not us die in 2000, dumbass. But anyways, we will all die in 2012. Everyone will die in 2012.
Think of it this way, The Mayans existed thousands and thousands of years ago. Around 2000 years before christ. The modern calender for them would be in the 5000's, therefore for them there has already been a 2012.
Besides, I think what they meant is that it's the REBIRTH of the world NOT the death of the world. Lol.

I honestly laugh at the thought of the world ending in 2012.
Really what does it matter? If in 2012 at 1 minute to doomsday you drop dead from a heart attack, what does it matter if everyone else drops dead too? You'll never know you died.
If you feel that it's messing you up then it's time to see a shrink.
The Mayans DID NOT predict the JFK assassination I see nowhere it says John Kennedy will get shot in Dallas. Just innuendos and guesses hundreds of years after.
It's just another prediction that'll have to rehashed in a different light when 2013 comes. Then you'll hear some scholar say " arh! we miscalculated by 3 years." and you'll all have to suffer another three years.
At every stage of history kings and leaders have come and gone and the results of their deaths bring change. That can happen all the time so it's easy to predict.
People seem worried about a comet hitting the earth to end the world.
Sensible people would be far more concerned that situation in Israel will end the world.
When I reallly think about it, a small fear arises. However, I honestly can't believe some supernatural force will make several catastrophic events happen in one/several days. However, the world ending or not, in 2012, there will be changes. It's somewhat normal.
It's normal that you're scared of it because people have made it out to be such a scary thing! It's really not that frightening. Every day you're on this planet you're one day closer to death, and it doesn't matter if it's falling in front of a car or if it's the world erupting. The Mayans predicted a lot of stuff that came true, like the JFK assassination, but they also predicted that a jaguar would eat the sun. People could have just killed JFK to go along with the predictions for all we know! But don't live your life in fear, it's a miserable way to exist.
I have a small fear of it but since the world hasn't ended yet and lots of people have been making predictions, Nostradamus anyone?
It's just because the Mayan calendar ends in 2012 "supposedly" meaning the world will end.
Honestly, who knows when the world will or even if it will end. Just make the most of what you've got and have fun.
