Is it normal to be scared by a movie?

I and all my friends growing up were raised on horror movies. We were never frightened by them, but entertained.

When I entered college, I set up a weekly movie night with one of my new friends. On one movie night in particular, I picked a horror movie for us to watch - La Casa 3, aka Ghosthouse - and she was TERRIFIED. She was shaking and screaming and everything. I have never witnessed anyone have such a reaction to a movie before. Hell, I didn't even think it was POSSIBLE for someone to react like this to a mere film.

Is this normal?

    I have the same thing with bird hunting shows.

    Horror movies scare me a lot. I have to stop watching sometimes because I'm scared of what may come next. But the worst thing is when I'm in bed alone. I freak out whenever I hear a sound... 0:)

    Yes this happens.

    I had a friend who kept calling me because he couldn't sleep after watching paranormal activity. I tried to understand what was so scary about it but i couldn't find it.
