Is it normal to be sad on your birthday?

Well I've had some bad birthdays, 1. I had a car crash coming back from my birthday weekend. No one got hurt but it was scary and my parents and friend had a huge argument which got my friend kicked out of the house. And it was all my fault. Since then I get miserable that my birthday will go wrong, I can't be happy about it. I don't even get excited anymore I just get worried. Then recently I got accused of cheating in a test on my birthday(I didn't by the way) And now I feel that I can't ever have a good birthday. I know I'm going on a bit but I just wondered is it normal because everyone usually loves birthday

I've only had one bad birthday. I got socks. Really. Ugly. Socks. The only thing I got when I was 14 was those stupid socks! Darn

all my birthdays 4+ have been horrable and my brothers made sure of that. now i'm not talking stupid brother sister stuff on my 5th birthday my brothers locked me in a cupboard for 5 hours and if my dad hadn't of come home early from work i could have been in there longer. i've been burned, cut, pushed down the stairs, punched, kicked, had my alcoholic mum spend all my birthdays at the pub and me spend them alone. my 18th was the best ever. i got to spend it with family and my bf and i also saw my friends. the only thing that went wrong was my mum had a mardy but that was sorted.i know it doesn't sound like much but my brothers spent everyday trying to make my life hell i'm glad it stopped when i was like 14 though. but yeah i just asummed growing up that birthday were ment to be full of pain and being left to spend it alone. when i told my bf before it was my 18th he did everything he could to make sure i had a good birthday and i love him for that.

I've had many bad birthdays. The last good one was when I turned about 5 or 6. Most of my friends came, relatives that I cared about at the time and some neighbors. I got presents, cake and even a moon bounce. My birthdays aren't the same anymore. They don't get celebrated anymore... I haven't been through exactly the same things as you, but I know how feel. Keep your chin up, eventually I'm sure that you'll have a good birthday. I don't love my birthday for many reasons, but I hope that one day I'll have good birthdays again.

I had lots of bad birthdays. The only good one I remember was my seventh when I got a second-hand bike. I loved that thing and was devastated when someone stole it.

I don't have bad birthdays any more, though. Just indifferent ones that don't feel like birthdays. If it makes you feel any better, there really isn't a curse. :)
