Okay, so today my friends brother is leaving to school in another state. I've never really talked to him or tried to get to know him i've just seen him around and said "hi" a few times. Is it normal that I feel really sad and about to cry that he's leaving?
I'm sorry to know that your friend's bother is going to another state. It seems to me that you're having a crush on your friend's brother, aren't you?
If you do have a crush on him/like him, then of course it's normal for you to be upset and cry over his leaving. To be more positive, I believe you will have chances to meet him again. Although you won't be seeing him soon, still, I'm sure that he would come back and visit his family occasionally. What you can do is to stay close to your friend and get updated information about when your friend's brother may come back.
Or you may get to know him by social-network, like befriending him on Facebook or following him on Twitter. Geographic distance can be overcome if you try.
