Is it normal to be repulsed by a turn-on?

There are a few things that turn me on, but there is one of them in particular that gives me an extremely strong sense of arousal that I find abhorrent at the same time. I cannot engage in this activity without feeling a strong wave of disgust and shame, but I'm still getting sexual pleasure from it. Sometimes the disgust is so strong that I feel slightly nauseous, and on one hand want to stop, but the carnal side just wants more.

Has this happened to anyone else? What might cause such a reaction? It is one of the most arousing activities I've partaken in, but I wind up "purging" my mind later because the thoughts related to this activity are completely and utterly unpleasant.

Note: It's nothing that could be viewed as morally reprehensible, such as slavery or rape play, so it'n not my conscience holding me back.

    Hey, just do whatever turns you on. You'll find someone out there who wants to wear a rubber outfit, poop on your chest, hang themselves, cut themselves, pee in your mouth, handcuff you, whip you, engage in ass to mouth, vomit play, sniffing, beads, clamps, and if you're lucky... will still be there the next morning to go with you to Ikea or Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

    For all those begging to know what this turn-on is, it's sniffing body odor. It's not that I find the BO repulsive, but it's more the act, especially when sniffing my own. I feel dirty and filthy for having BO in the first place, but sniffing it is just purely pleasurable. Interestingly, I don't view other people who have BO as being filthy. Only myself. Yet sniffing my own appears to be the most pleasurable form of the act.

    I really wasn't sure if I should click normal or not until I read what the "act" is... now that I know, I'd say it's normal in that it's not "un-normal." It seems too harmless a thing to be concerned about, imo.

    I have the same issue, so you're not alone out there. Mine is actually a lot more disgusting than yours, so you can at least take comfort in that.

    Most people are turned on by smell, and they don't know it. I love the way my husband after he comes back from the gym (not after 20 hours on a plane though).

    Also, modern culture is so obsessed with smell. We all need to get over it.

    You are fine, except for the neurosis of hating yourself for being turned on by something totally natural! Sniff away man.
