Is it normal to be paranoid?

I have a few close friends, and we hang out a decent amount. But I'm always afraid that they secretly hate me and when I leave, they laugh about me and make fun of me all behind my back. I know this is stupid, but I'm really afraid that I'm the stupid one that doesn't notice that everyone hates me. Is this normal?

I think it is normal because usually your own feelings don't fail you. If this is what you feel then there must be something they said or did that made you think this way. My advice is not to care much about their oppinion. But if you really want to see that what you said is true, do this: at one point, one of them will argue with the others. That's when you come in and go to him\her and listen all his\her frustrations and she\he will tell you eventually if they back talked you at some point or not. If they did, the best thing is to confront them and then leave the group and join another one that makes you feel confident among them.:)

I seriously posted a story just like this! You may just be a little paranoid I thought the same thing then confronted my best friend and found out I was just overthinking everything. Don't worry too much just ask your friends in a nice non-threatening way and tell them how you feel.

I used to work with a gal who was always crying and thinking these types of things about us around her. We all liked her and thought she was sweet until she started getting paranoid and weird and very overly insecure. It was nonsense. Because of her insecurities we started talking about her strange attitude. I suggest you relax and maybe things will change. If these are your friends then they obviously like you. Do give them a reason not to.

There has to be a reason why you feel that way, follow your gut. You could talk to them but they most likely won't be honest. Maybe it's time for new friends??

It happened to me too and I wasn't sure, but found out they were. You know something in ur gut isn't right. If u have that feeling then most likely they are talkin about you. Don't be the stupid one. Just confront it
