Is it normal to be on the opposite end of everything?

So sometimes I find myself arguing with my bf or my mother bc I, for some retarded reason (even if I know they are right) feel the need to stand in the opposite end of their argument .. it drives me crazy because I don't like to argue at all and oddly enough I do it.

  • I find I do this too. I'm sure there are many other reasons, but most of the time, I find that I just don't like the person. So it's not really the argument, it's the person, and I just want to argue with them. Because I don't like them, they can do no right on my eyes, so I pick on every opportunity to argue with them.

You play devil's advocate. I think arguments should be reserved for true beliefs though. Otherwise you never connect with people.

There must be something you feel you gain from this behavior... You might want to investigate what it is.

Normal? Unfortunately yes, there are lots of arrogant people in the world.
Good? No. Sometimes, you should admit that you're wrong and move along. Life is too short to spend on empty arguments.
