We used to call it pop in England too. Pop was my grandfather's nickname in town because he never drank alcohol in his life.

The only things we call soda are soda water and cream soda.

Lol. I live in Canada, so I say pop. But we took this trip to LA and we were at this restaurant and our waiter was honesty overjoyed that we said pop, and not soda cuz he is originally from Ohio.
