Is it normal to be obsessed with a band

Okay I know I just sound like a weird fan but I am absolutely obsessed with the band My Chemical Romance. I am nothing like their average fan, I'm blonde and super girly. I am so obsessed to the point of almost being brought to tears when I hear their music and feeling like I am truly in love with the singer. I get this weird feeling inside when I think of them and I want to be around them and know them so bad it almost hurts They are my LIFE, everything revolves around their music. I feel like a traitor when I listen to other music. Is it OCD??? Does anyone else have this problem??

    It is totally normal! Believe it or not I would consider it a good thing. It's healthy to be into things and interested. When you don't feel like this about anything is when you have to worry.

    Hmmm... I'm obsessed to the White Stripes to the point where I know Jack White's birth name is John Gillis. But i don't feel like a traitor when i listen to another band.

    It's normal to love and have passion for art. Don't let it control your life. And go easy on the other bands, the guys in MCR all have their own musical inspirations. You can have more than one too.

    I know what you mean 100%. i have been obsessed with MCR since i found one of their songs (i'm not okay) on my dad's mp3 player four or five years ago (and im 15). i've only been to see them once, last year on the danger days tour, but it was the happiest day of my life. i would refuse to listen to any other band for months on end when i first started liking them, and when i finally listened to a different band i would feel SO gulty. i would feel like a traitor to the band. i also idolised gerard way for a very long time, and after that i found him attractive and had an obsession with him. but now that i'm older and have been a fan of theirs for so long i just respect him and the rest of the band, and love them but in the right way. sometimes their music will bring me to tears from the beauty and the meaning. my chemical romance have given me a reson to live, so you keep on listening to them because you are a true member of the MCRmy :)

    IT IS NORMAL. I AM OBSESSED WITH EVANESCENCE. I CANT LIVE WITHOUT THEM. SO I GUESS IT'S NORMAL.

    I sorta feel the same about Bayside. Meeting them was one of the best moments of my life. As long as your fascination doesn't get in the way of your life, it's ok.
