Is it normal to be nude around my brother-in-law?

I'm a girl, and never minded being nude around my family(we had a garden that you could not see into from outside our property), or them being nude around me.
My elder sister also has a house, with a pool and also blocked view from outside the property, and raises her kids the same way.
When i visit them(i live in a flat) i usually sunbath and swim nude, same as my sister and her kids. Her husband usually(but not always) wears swimming shorts, but never spoke to me about this topic.
But when i casually mentioned it to a few friends, they told me i was being weird and that it's not ok.
I mean, he's family to me, and my sister doesn't seem to mind, either, but is it true? Are you supposed to be more prudish around in-laws?

    to be honest, I think he only sees me as a little sister - just without the blood relation.
    So I'm not exactly sure how much "enjoyment" I bring, but I'd hope that even if you are correct, I'd fall into the first category.
    I already asked my sister(before posting here) and she asked me why I'm being silly, "of course she doesn't mind".

Normal. I live in a naturist area in full time with my soon and to be nude in front of everyone is normal for us.
To be without swimming garments offers a felling of freadom,especially when swimming. To have a good sun colour from up down without any white stripes is very nice.
My son with 14yrd when in school holidays is 24/7 naked, like me and we have friends coming in that do not want to take clothes of. No problem, no prejudice.

My wife is always topless or naked at home no matter who is present. She has been seen naked by my friends, our neighbors, delivery or their men, the mailman almost on a daily basisnd this is fine with me and I actually encourage it because she loves and is proud of her 26 year old body and loves the constant compliments she gets. But yesterday my brother and uncle were coming over for Christmas and the New Years holidays When I asked if she was going to dress and she said no. I really don't care but I feel embarrassed for them....What do you think of this cause I really don't mind as I'mroud of her nakedness.......

I think this is normal. I bet he was aroused initially and naturally so if you are attractive IMO but once he has gotten used to it he won't be bothered at all. Maybe ask him and see if he blushes!

  yeah, same thing if we're wrestling in the pool or something(playing with the kids, nothing naughty!), but i know man can't exactly control their arousal or if they get an erection. IF it happens, it passes fast.
  My sis and me actually tease him sometimes putting sunscreen on one another, but there's definitely no sexual tension of any sorts and he loves her crazy.

My mother-in-law may be moving in with us. I approve of anybody being nude. I’m trying to probe to get consensus for more nudity at home. What do you suggest? Just give an ultimatum and be nude? Ease into it with progressively more nudity. What has worked for you?

I am with the majority here. As you and your sister were raised in a life style that freed you from the restriction of clothes there should not be a problem here. I would of course discuss this with your sister first, before just jumping in with your nudity. Given the green light from your sister, I would ask if she asked how her husband, your brother-in-law felt about it? As others have stated he probably would not object. Just remember that the thought of now two naked women now parading around in front of him might be a bit more than he is prepared for, as men are visual creatures. And sometimes the member between his legs has a mind of its own.

being naked is not neccesarily sexual! when are we gonna get over this judea-christian idea that nakedness is evil? if he sees you in a sexual way then there might be a problem. but half of it is this stupid predudice against the naked body- where naked means sex. try to distinquishe between the two (him especially)

Its different, but it sounds like its not a sexual thing, and everyone is fine with it, than its ok. Being naked around in-laws is usually a bad idea, but since nudity is part of your family I guess its ok.

ah.. if it's acceptable in your family, it's alrigt around your family. Your sister's husband though isn't a direct family member, so yeah.. it's kinda weird.

if my gf's sister would come over and walk around naked i'd take it the wrong way, sorry.

  well, he's not my sisters boyfriend. They are husband and wife since several years and have 2 lovely kids together.
  Just saying, i do differ between people just being friends of the family or being a integral part of it, and i already knew him when i was still a teenager.

      yeah, just saying i understand your initial objection-
      but, well, to me he IS a brother...in-law. like, most of my adult life, he and my sis were inseparable, so seeing him as something "outside" never really occured to me before.
