Is it normal to be nostalgic about nursery rhymes.

I grew up singing songs like Itsy Bitsy Spider, I'm a Little Teapot,Ants go marching, etc... all the time when I was a kid. They bring back fond childhood memories. Is it okay that I feel a bit nostalgic about nursery rhymes.

Me too. I remember singing Itsy Bitsy Spider with my sisters and we would make up new verses. I also had this black spider puppet that I would play with when we would sing the song.

It was. It was a black hand puppet that you could put your fingers in it's legs and crawl around. We had lots of hand puppets and stuffed animals. We loved also dressing up and acting out nursery rhymes like Jack and Jill, Little Miss Muffet, Mary Had a Little Lamb.

I didn't know about cute spiders until recently. If you can get over the arachnophobia ....they're just little people. With much legs. And hairs. God love 'em........ I'm not sure if I do

You know it might sound weird but I've never actually been afraid of spiders. I've loved them since I was a little girl.

Cockroaches on the other hand are a different story.

Of course. It was something in your childhood that made you happy then and so that memory makes you happy now.
I don't see how it could even be construed as abnormal.

I just recently went through an old box of books from my childhood that I found in my parents' attic and I sat down for a good hour just reading through them for the nostalgia. Mr. Men books, Serendipity books, The King's Tea.. Good times.

Awh, I sing nursery rhymes to my niece before she falls asleep. My mother used to do the same for me, so every time I sing one it brings back happy memories.
