Is it normal to be nocturnal?

Ok I have no problem staying up until 6 or 7am and then sleeping till 2 in the after noon. My dad says it's wrong to do that but he goes to bed at like 8 and gets up at 6am for work. I guess I'd rather be up when no one else is and sleep when they are. Another thing I'm kind of afraid of the dark! I don't get why I stay up then...? IIN?

Ugh, I'm like this too. I always go to bed between 3 and 6 in the morning, and then wake up between 1 and 3 in the afternoon. Even when I was still in school, I would stay up till 3 in the morning. I just feel more alert at night, and tend to get more things done. During the day I never feel like doing anything.

Though I'm not really a fan of the dark either. XD

I think he's more upset that he hears little noises and movement, and it's interfering with his sleep so he can work. My roommate was like this, until I got a job as security which requires me to go in by 2 in the morning, and be out by 7. Now that I have a legit reason to stay up so late, she can't tell me have anything.

Also, treat the dark as your friend instead of being scared. The only thing going bump in the night is YOU now. :D

Sometimes I do this on purpose, not sleeping at night because I'm to afraid of the dark (like right now 1:47 a.m ). I guess its normal as its not the first time I've heard of this. Usually I tried to get normal sleep by having a light on (not necessarily a nightlight).

The moment I'm not tied to a routine my internal clocks wires itself to sleep from about 6am to 1pm. I don't think it's wrong particularly although I've been told it's sinful. Seriously, you can now commit a sin based solely on the time you go to bed.

Anyone who tells you that anything at all is a sin, has an ulterior motive and isn't primarily concerned about your moral welfare.

the whole "early to bed early to rise" thing annoys me, it sounds like advise to get enough sleep but dont over sleep, not that someone shouldnt stay up late

Its normal to sleep regularly, regardless of time, as long as you get enough shut eye.
