Is it normal to be more sensitive to animals than people

I'm not really an animal person, like I don't have any interest in them. It's just whatever empathy or sensitivity I give out is based on innocence, and I feel that animals are a little more innocent than people. Most of the time, I don't like socializing with people because they either anger me or make me feel uncomfortable and anxious. But animals, especially cats, don't upset me. All of their ignorance and wrong-doing isn't their fault because they don't think like us. People just seem to do everything in the name of what they think is cool and have complex thought processes which makes me upset when they do something stupid or bad. I usually am pretty insensitive and rarely feel empathy for others, but the innocence of animals makes me tolerate them unlike people. Does anyone else feel like this? Is this normal?
