Others might dislike it and my mother thinks people who like this stuff are sick.. and probably more people do.I feel very normal about it, but I feel unsecure about thinking what other might think about it..

    I would say that both are normal, while masochism is more prone in women and vice versa in men. And this is purely in a sexual context, if you derive pleasure from hurting people just to hurt people, then that's kinda messed up.

      Actually being sadistic doesn't necessarely mean to like hurting others for the pain.
      I just don't know what is messed up about it when both enjoy it for different reasons..

        As long as the other party is consenting it's totally fine. I'm talking about if you like emotionally hurting people in your every day life, which is also sadist, then that's wrong.
