Is it normal to be like this over a film

I have just finished watching a film called tyrannasaur and I feel extremely down. I know film like that are going to be depressing and bleak due to the subject material (even though it's proffesional and not trashy) but I can tell it will get me down for a few days. This happened with we need to talk about kevin I was emotional and touchy for a while after the film as if something had happened to me. Is such a strong reaction from a bleak film normal? (I strongly recommed watching tyrannasaur it's an incredible and powerful film)

Hahaha... The great lizard would be all, "RAWR" with a tear running down it's face.

Go to Youtube they have a video of a turtle humping a shoe. You can hear it SQUEAK with turtle passion!

Yep films books music games even can pull on your heart strings.

Like that bit in the walking dead where that thing happens.

Or the bit in final fantasy 7 where that happens too.

Or the bit in Witches where that thing happens.

Powder and Hello Herman made me extremely sad. They were good movies, I loved them, but the topics just told you there wouldn't be a happy ending.

Tyrannosaur is a depressing film, but a masterclass in acting from Olivia Colman and Peter Mullan.

With powerful films, I usually overcome the melancholy before the next day, but I sometimes carry the impact for a while. I'm surprised you are still low after a day, but i can understand it.

Donnie Darko, The Return, American Beauty and Into The Wild had a strong effect on me, among others. They get under your skin and stay there.

For me, film and music can do what a static image can never do. Incredibly powerful art forms.
