Is it normal to be kind to someone when they are rude to you?

I always be kind to my brother but he acts so bad to me! I mean really bad he always hurt my feelings is it normal to be kind to someone like my brother?

    I do that all the time, IRL. If you're nice to someone and they're still a bitch to you then you can rest assured that it's likely because they're a bitch in general. Don't change.

    Ikr! For some reason many years ago in 7th grade, when my enemy was being so bratty to me, I kept smiling sweetly at her (not sarcastically, for real) and saying nice things and complementing her while she completely ignored me or just said "I know".
    And when people are kind to me I just say thanks. x)

    Depends how rude, and I it was meant hurtfully. One thing I really can't stand is people commenting on appearance. I tend to be on the calm side, but then if one person really pisses me off I gave a tendency to let it all go and become agressive. Been in one or two fights in my time...

    brothers are like that .. if not then at least i have the same ... but that doesn't mean that we also change.. their attitude defines them and your's will define you..
    you should obviously continue to be kind maybe one day he realizes that he's being too rude..
