So my friend is Jewish. She even wears the star of david on a necklace on her neck. Yet when she enters or exits her car she immediately does a hail mary. When I asked her about it she grumbled something about a grandma being Catholic. She is 25 years old. Is this normal?
Well, I have a Catholic mother and a Jewish dad.
I don't believe in Gad myself, but my parents always told be i could choose to embrace either religion, none, or both. I think it's possible to respect and feel connected to numerous faiths, or pick and choose what aspects of that faith best fit your life style.
not really normal but i don't condone anyone who wants to show respect to the other religion.
Yeah it might be a habit. Maybe her gram made her say a hail mary ecery time she was with her in a car.
I think that's a contradiction to share both religions. Jewish do not believe that Jesus was the messiah and Catholicism does. Very confusing to learn both and practice both faiths.
well, they never really talked about jesus. they just told me that if theres a god he or she or whatever wants us to be kind and generous human beings and do our best to make the world a better place. they taught me how to thank god for our blessings, and how to be brave and free thinking . Along the way i stopped caring about both religions, i dont think i ever really believed in god just like i never believed in santa, but i will always carry the morals my parents gave me and look to them and inside myself for guidance and faith....i guess i dont need a god. haha
