My ex and I have been separated for about a year now. I am in a relationship with someone else now. I saw my ex with someone else but was I got very jealous.
It's normal. I used to feel like this when my ex moved on. It was weird for me because I'm not really the jealous type. I haven't seen her for over two years now, though, and the only emotion I have about people she dates is to pity the fool. :)
Assuming that the current person ex is with is in some way obviously superior to you, yes, I think it's normal. The rational part of our brain moves on and hopes them the best, but the crazy, unevolved part that we usually don't share with others and ultimately dictates how we truly feel about something is another story entirely. Exes are supposed to either remain hopelessly alone and miserable forever, their life a constant trial as they try to find anyone who comes close to measuring up to you, or they are supposed to only be able to shackle themselves to some troglodyte with severe mental and personality deficiencies. They die sad and alone, your name the last word that passes their lips, anguish over your parting the last emotion they experience before they shuffle off to merciful death. Because if they upgrade after you, and they are happier and more fulfilled after you, then they win, and that's just no good. Of course, you probably shouldn't verbalize these things to people that aren't the internet.
I really hope it's normal to feel this way at least a little bit, because otherwise, I'm in serious trouble.
I say no. You could feel happy for her. You could feel relieved that she has moved on and has now someone else in her life.
But to feel jealousy suggests some pretty nasty and hard feelings on your part about the separation and ill will towards her now. Maybe talk to someone about how you are putting things together that makes you jealous.
Well that's pretty silly especially since you are with someone else now. And PS- jealousy is hideous.
