Is it normal to be jealous over this?

My family has always been a little bit on the heavier side, with me always being the smallest. None of us were obese, but we made a decision back in August to start eating clean. In addition to that I have started to work out (squats, weights, light cardio, etc.) and my body is really starting to get down to my ideal. The rest of my family is looking great as well. But, all of our family and family friends have been noticing everyone except for myself. When we gather, everyone freaks out about how trim and small the rest of my family looks. I've lost the most weight out of anyone, but no one has noticed. Is it normal to get jealous about this? Is it normal to want at least someone to pay me a compliment? Am I just being a jealous bitch? I've often thought maybe they are receiving the most attention, because they were the heaviest?

I think its normal. You've accomplished the same goal that everyone else had but you are the only one not getting recognition for it. Well, good job to you, I admire your weight loss and healthy life style. I can never be motivated for more than a few weeks to work out.

    • Actually, the question was is it normal to be jealous? Or am I just being a bitch?

Its normal to feel annoyed at the fact that even though you worked as hard and lost as much weight as everyone else did, they got all the credit because they were fatties. I've gone through this type of thing most of my childhood. My cousin is my age, but a total dumb shit. She's failed several grades, has social disorders and doesn't really ever speak, and she doesn't take care of her appearance at all. Because of this, everytime she accomplishes the smallest thing, everyone bends over backwards complimenting her. I do the same things and more, and nobody says anything because its normal for me. Another girl I knew was a fatty with an attitude problem, and everyone was always telling her she's lost weight and she's so pretty and so bright in the meantime she was really just an angry fat little girl. People feel bad for less fortunate people and paying them compliments allows them to feel better about themselves. Don't worry, aslong as YOU notice the weight you lost, that's all that matters.
