Is it normal that I'm jealous of the family at my club. My family is small only having my parents, one sister and my nan and grandad. My parents have no close fiends and no-one ever comes around our house, as well as this my parents are really strict and overprotective. I'm jealous because the man who runs my local club, is fun and has lot's of kids and family who all get on really well. He's really affectionate with his family as well and I'm jealous my dad and family aren't like this. I find myself thinking about his family and wishing we were more like that, is it normal?

    It is normal to feel envy as you see this family as getting on well together, but remember this is only how they behave when they know you are around, conflicts are frequent occurrences in larger families, and children with lots of siblings often feel that they get ignored by their parents, due to the lack of time they spend alone with them.

    Yes it's normal, my family is the same way. They have many strong attributes, just socializing isn't one of them.
