Is it normal to be intimidated by men...at my age?

I didn't pick up on sports, mechanical things, hunting, etc (guy topics) as a kid. I've worked on learning this stuff, but at 35 I still can't talk about guy stuff with the guys....it's like that kind of stuff just doesn't get in my brain. But it seems like other men just absorb all this info like a sponge. I have to study it, then after a week or a month, I forget it all. I've always been this way. I want to just enjoy hanging out/talking with my guy friends instead of always being so intimidated.

find friends that share similar interests rather than sports, hunting, mechanical or technical things.
I have a lot of guy friends and we never talk about sports or hunting
and it shouldnt intimidate you when other guys talk about it either. Its just something their into, just because your a guy doesnt mean you have to like "guy" stuff and it doesnt make you any less of a man if you dont like sports or cars

  • You didn't just pop onto earth from nowhere. Find things you can talk about. Continue to enjoy hanging out. Don't be so hard on yourself about what you are not.

Find other people who have different interests. Broaden your circle of acquaintances. It's not because you're a guy that you're bound to be interested in that stuff. You have other interests, I'm sure.
