Is it normal to be incapable of long distance relationships?

I've tried multiple times. Dating long distance never works for me because I never feel the relationship is moving forward. I've tried activities like reading the same books and talking about them or having "skype dates". It just never seems real to me. I worry sometimes if it's a problem on my end. Does anyone else experience this?

I feel that physical parts of a relationship are equally as important as the emotional parts. And when the relationship is long distance, you don't have that. It's like part of the relationship is just not there. I have never been able hold a long distance relationship either. It's fairly easy to keep the person as a friend and a hypothetical "shoulder to lean on" when you need someone to talk to, but it's very normal to feel like the relationship just doesn't click with the distance.

You gotta meet. And it has to be a person you care about alot. Some just want out when the fun is over.

When I'm away from my bf for long periods of time, I feel like the relationship is on hold... Not like were taking a break, but were still together, and just not doing anything... I understand your feelings, and sometimes long distance relationships just don't work for some people. Keep in mind that it might just be a coincidence that all the guys you've been in long distance relationships with didn't work out... I'm not a very good advice giver... I tried <:)

I've had one friend marry someone states away a couple years ago who is very happy. I have a couple others who are in successful, loving, long-distance relationships. I don't seem to be the only one who has trouble on here though. I'm in the minority among my friends.

Long distance relationahips don't work. I've been there and done that. It was just a mess. Find a nice partner in your area.

Yeah, I get what your saying. Maybe for you, the physical parts of a relationship are equally as important as the emotional parts. I'm not the same way, but people are different.

The problem is that you're trying to meet men or women who live no where near you.

The only way to ''keep it real'' is to find someone in your area.

I had a few chances at trying to make a long distance relationship bloom, so to speak, and it just doesn't work (most of the time).
