Is it normal to be in love with your best friend?

One of the hardest things is to be in love with someone who isn't in love with you. Regardless of sex, religion, creed, or sexual preference, I'm sure there are people out there who have dealt with this. How do you get over it? I think one of the most complicated experiences is dealing with a same sex attraction and you're in the closet. Talk about painful love.

You have to distinguish between a good good good friendship and true love. As it might be an illusion of dependence.

I read this post in the mistaken belief that my best friend was going to get a girlfriend after far too long a time.

    Thanks for disappointing me.

  • No, this isn't normal. Infact you are a freak for falling for someone you generaly like. That is not normal behavior. Check in to the closest psych ward in your area before you go on a killing spree!

Yea this is a situation I've experienced in the past. Not something fresh. Just wanted to see if there were similar stories and experiences from others out there.

I hate to break it to you, but if they don't love you back you're in for a long road of nothing but hurt. Do they know? did you tell them? If not then tell them and see what they say.
