Is it normal to be in love with someone but not want sex at all

Ok, so there is a girl I have liked for about 8 months now, she never used to talk to me but all of a sudden she started when i told she was pretty when she was all depressed, I talk to her more then I do anyone else, a few hundred text messages a day at home and at school I talk to her alot, we've never hung out outside of school until this comin Sunday were going to the mall, I am totally in live with her and I've told her that, she says she loves me back, but the only problem, as her best friend, still I love her but am not able to see myself in any sort of sexual relationship with her. Is this normal and any advice?

  • Don't be too caught up in sex. The world today makes it seem like it's nothing, when in reality it's something that's quite special and will happen when it does. Don't think about it too much, it shouldn't even be thought of at this point.

Maybe you are in love with them but not their body.

Lots of great advice! Too many people rush relationships by having sex too soon. I agree wholeheartedly, nothing wrong with waiting. I believe you have to be friends first. Otherwise there is no foundation to build the relationship upon.

Sometimes, sex changes things. Maybe it's best to be young and enjoy eachother's company for a while before enjoying eachother's bodies. I see no need to pressure anything. Don't do what doesn't feel right.

    "girl" - there's your issue.

Just because you love her doesn't mean you're emotionally ready to start a mature physical relationship.

That's perfectly fine and normal. It's OK and normal to wait.
