Is it normal to be in love with an anime character?

So i really like anime and i watched this one called sword art online the other day and there's this one girl in the show called sinon that is pretty much my perfect girl, I get really obsessed and I have a framed picture of her on my desk as well as a full sized body pillow of her and she likes watching me play video games.
At school the other day this girl I've known since elementary school asked me if I wanted to go and see the new hobbit movie with her, but I turned her down because I wanted to wanted to watch it with sinon first because she's perfect. I feel content with sinon and I know that no real girl will ever come close to how perfect sinon is, is it normal that I reject other girls for an anime character?

    Im pretty sure there is a name in japanese for your type of uber loser- i mean nerd. If i only could remember.

    And this is idiotic, i love anime, i watched anime before it was a thing here. I was a baby watching it with all the other cartoons and just saw it all as animation. And i love plenty of characters from multiple animes and cartoons, movies and shows.

    But there is a damn diffrences between loving a character, and being "in love" with a character. Your "Obsession" is both unhealthy and almost shaming to me and everyone else that enjoy Anime as an entertainment media.

    Bright side side is if u avoid real women atleast it almost certain you will never reproduce

    Eek...Definitely not normal to reject someone REAL for a pillow...I'll always have a thing for the dude from legend of Zelda but I'm still married.

    However, rejecting others for something that's not real isn't normal. Missing out on many opportunities, y'know?
