Is it normal to be in love with a fiction character?

Since I read Harry Potter I fell in love with Severus Snape. OMFG! I found him so hot. the combination of the actor Alan Rickman and the personality of Severus Snape is perfect!
I always fantasie to have sex with him.

I agree that you fell in love with the qualities that he possesses. It's good that you now know what you're lookin for in a relationship...

And if you're actually in love with snape, there's some good fan fiction about him out there...

I am always falling for fictional, cartoon, and pixel guys and whats crazy is for the longest time I didn't even like real guys so I thought I was extremely weird. My list of fake character crushes is long, it starts with Sasuke from Naruto and then its Naruto, itachi, naruto dad, jake frost from the movie the guardians, most guys Clover liked from Totally spies, jacob black from Twilight, the two guys in the hunger games movie, the guy in the movie Epic, and so many others that I just lost track of LOL

I love Severus Snape too. I love him very much. I deeply care for him and i respect him. I think he's the greatest and bravest man i ever knew and still know to this day. I just don't love him beyond a platonic scale. I believe he is real...just not physically speaking. If you look at my profile, you'll see that i even have a picture of him. You're normal in my eyes. ^__^

Lol ever watch Potter Puppet Pals on YouTube? I like the one where Snape is singing "Snape, Snape, Severus Snape" & the others come in, all singing their names.

And it's normal; I love Howard Wolowitz from The Big Bang Theory. As long as you can distinguish fantasy from reality it's okay. :)

I think its completely normal I fell in love with Syrena of Pirates of Caribbean 4 and not just because she is hot and almost naked, but yes because she is indefense, timid, not agressive, cute, beautifull, needs protection, she can´t walk, and she is completely ddifferent of the other mermaids.
And I would love to have her in my arms.

And you know what is funnier? I Do not love the actress.

    Hell yeah that's normal.
The character in the book is loveable but Alan Rickmans body/face/VOICE is just so damn sexy. He's over three times older than me but boy is he hot!

I agree - it's a crush or infatuation, which feels a lot like love, but is very far from it. It's normal to feel this way about fictional characters, I don't see how it's any different to having a celebrity crush. You might want to try to stick to real people if you want an actual relationship though ;)

I don't think your in love with the character, I think you might love his qualities. I know when I read TWILIGHT I fell in love with Edward, because he had the qualities I look for in a guy. I just think your infatuated with the character and maybe the actor, but It's definately not love.
