Is it normal to be hit on by the same sex?

What would you think or how would you react if somebody of the same gender as you came up to you in public and said something like, "I've noticed you and you're a good looking guy/girl and I was wondering if I could get your number so I can call you sometime so maybe we can get together and hang out or something?"

It'd be the same sort of reaction if someone of the opposite sex did that.

i was on the DC metro (red line) when a woman came up to me, looked me up and down and said, "Daaaamn, girrl, you fine!" i froze and said only, "but i am married" she looked not happy and walked away. i am not gay at all but i was not nervous because it was not first time. it is normal and part of life, so i accept it.

Sure! It's flattering to get hot on by the same sex.

I honestly don't know what to do when either gender asks me out. I usually just awkwardly turn them down. lol

  • Lol! I wish they took that approach. What I got instead was a bunch of random ass grabs and slaps, leaning up on me, kissing me before I could react, trying to pull me on the sofa, and so on. Not one has been so kind as to just offer their number. If they were to do that I don't know what I'd do. I'd either say sure (even though I'm not gay but I find it hard to say no to advances on the behalf of the other person) or tell them I'm not gay but if they want to be friends then sure, we can exchange numbers.

Gay and Bi guys tend to love me for some reason.

I just hope you learned a few tricks to protect yourself.

Normal. However, it still depends on the approach. If it's a courteous 'pick -up' line, like 'Hey handsome, can I buy you a drink?' Then I'm flattered but I'll respectfully tell them I'm straight and maybe carry on a cool conversation. Maybe I just meet a cool new friend. If it's a drunk dickhead grabbing my ass, he's likely gonna at least get pretty bruised and twisted arm. It's all about a respectable approach.

I'd say something along the lines of: "That is so very kind of you to say, but I am not interested in guys. Sorry."
