Is it normal to be high like this?

This past saturday, my sister had her friends over and I smoked with them. This was the first time I actually got high, at first I started freaking out then in an hour or so I somewhat started enjoying it. I also had friends coming over in 3 hours, which I also smoked with. Also, by the time my friends came I still wasn't sober completely. I smoked again about 4 hours after my first session. It was definitely more amusing with them, since I knew what it was going to feel like already and wouldn't overreact. So a total of twice smoking for the night.

But my problem is, I still feel a bit odd. Very borderline between high and sober, this morning in class it felt like the high was coming back somewhat, but now it's back to borderline. It's somewhat easy to zone out and I'm very calm as well. It's been 2 days and 9 hours since the first high (saturday night). Know this, it is my first time actually being high though there were previous attempts.

My friends are saying it's in my head, but I can definitely feel it. I'm guessing my cannabinoid receptors were over stimulated because the first time the high hit, it was super heavy. I even had a somewhat hard time understanding what was real and what was not.

I'm just hoping this half baked feeling, pun intended, goes away sometime soon, any advice?

It does, but I'm way more used to being high now. It's started happening less and less, but I'm trying not to get blazed out of my mind. So that's probably the reason why.

Not knowing what was real? You must really not have known what to expect huh? I read a lot about weed before I decided to try it, I tend to be paranoid about what I put in my body. I've done harder psychedellics and never experienced anything like that.

But the high experienced by different drugs can change your thought patterns, synapses in the brain are pretty flexible (to my limited knowledge) and new connections form constantly while little used ones degrade. It's possible that the high just triggered some changes in the way you think, the rest as was said above is psychosomatic. The active effects of THC wear off in a matter of hours, not days, even though there are traces left in your body, those aren't the psychoactive elements. There's a word for what they are but I'm blanking on that right now.

The knowing what's real and what's not doesn't sound normal to me...

But feeling like you're high, even though you're not, sounds like me.

I smoke as well, by the way. Not an everyday thing.

    Oh look another weed post.

Perhaps the THC is still in your system, perhaps it's psychosomatic. I haven't had this experience personally but I'd leave it longer than a couple of days before you concern yourself. If you still feel like this in a week, go to a doctor.

I think this is normal. This actually happened to me after my first few times getting high. The effect had worn off, and I decided to take a short nap. When I woke up, I started feeling it again shortly for another hour or two. It wasn't the full on high either, it was weird. I guess this is just because my body was still getting used to it. So I'd say it's normal. It won't always be like that.
