Is it normal to be haunted by flushing toilets?

I'm a 46 year old man. I cant flush the toilet. I never have been able too. the first and only time i flushed, i started screaming and hyperventilating because the flush scares the crap out of me and i think a terrorist will pop out and grab me and pull me into the poopy water. Since then i have been haunted by the sound of a flushing toilet. So now whenever anyone has to "do their business" i have to drive away and make someone flush for me and stay away until it is completely done.

am i normal?

    Haha me too! I cover my ears when I flush the toilet on the planes cause its so loud and sudden.

    This is a bullshit story. At the age you would have first flushed a toilet, you would not have even known what a terrorist was. Don't you have anything better to do?

    me to ! when i was little my uncle used to tell me that giant rats would come out and eat me ! i now flush then run to my bed and if im not under the covers by the time it stops i cry :O :')

    I'm the same, not the whole terrorist thing but everything else. Whenever I flush a toilet, I always make sure the doors unlocked so I can run like hell as soon I press the button.

    haha you just reminded me of that time my brother into an automatic public bathroom which locked him in, the toilet started flushing itself, the lights flickered on and off and the hand dryer turned itself on too :D

    Why do I have a feeling that this is fake? My bad. I don't think it is normal. I would suggest buying an automatic flusher. It would help you because it will flush after you're done. If it bothers you that much, go and get some help from a psychologist.

    IM TERRIFIED ON THE TOILETS ON PLANES. I NEVER WANT TO FLUSH THEM. I FEEL LIKE I'LL FALL OUT INTO THE SKY IF I WERE TO FLUSH, SO IF I MUST TRY TO FLUSH, I'LL PRESS THE BUTTON AND RUN FAST OUT OF THE ROOM
