Is it normal to be hated for no reason?

I work in a retail clothing store and have been for around 7 months. Now, from day 1 I knew that I was the odd one out. Managers and other employees would avoid me, preferr not to associate with me and generally ignore me- I was fine with that. I tried to be nice despite their cold treatment. Now it has escalated; managers will whisper about me when they think I'm not listening and go out of their way to exclude me from the group. When I even say "hello" to other employees they will not even aknowledge me. They just frown and walk away. Even worse, two of my managers have begun blaming me for having a slight hearing imparement (which they were aware of when they hired me).

Since I have been nothing but friendly and cooperative I have no idea where this behavior comes from! At first I thought that I might be unintentionally doing something to annoy them but in all other areas of my life people like me and are act nicely. I am very well liked at school and among friends so I don't know why this situation is so different? I just want these people to treat me the way I have been treating them. Is it normal to have a group of people gang up on you for no reason at all?

    I dont think this one coworker hates me,she doesnt like me, she barely talks to me maybe a hello, or if she needs something,

    I'd complain to the higher management and possibly quit. It's harassment.

    Do you work at Avenue? :P My bosses did the exact same thing for the first six months I worked there. They even invited me to work parties that never happened just to see if I'd show up. I fought back by gaining the loyalty of every single customer who walked into our store. From what I hear, there's a great number of customers who no longer will shop there because I'm no longer with the company. :D This has seriously disrupted sales and I have the feeling that the store will soon be closing. Fight fire with fire!

    I agree w/ Jelly. You cannot change others opinions, esp. if they're stupid. People hate me all the time, I'm not any better than anyone else but I am educated, take care of myself, have a car, a house. Haters are in abundance in all walks of life. If you don't have haters, you're doing something wrong.

    Unfortunately it is normal...people can be shitty. I'd suggest looking for another job and if that isn't possible then come to the realization that their opinions are not important. You don't go home to them at night.
