Is it normal to be fwb with your best friend?

During the course of my life, all of my guy friends have never gotten too close as a friend to me to become my best friend so I've never had a guy best friend up until recently. My best friend is kind, sweet, inspiring, good hearted, good looking, and just an all around a great guy that I feel like any girl would be lucky to have. He's the perfect guy and I love him! But I don't see myself dating him and I just see him as my best friend. He feels the same way with me as well. The thing is, we do have sex here and there just to satisfy our needs cause we're there for each other 100% and if he needs anything or if I need anything, we're just a call away. It's like a fwb type of relationship I guess. Is this weird? Is it okay to be fwb for the time being with your best friend? I'm probably just not used to having a guy best friend like this and doing intimate things with him.
Is it normal?

    I've had a couple of similar relationships with women over the years. Usually, they last until one or the other of you finds yourself a "real" partner, or until one of you develops unreciprocated feelings for the other.

    Enjoy it while it lasts, 'cause it probably wont last long.

      They never last. Only immature people (usually women) sit back and consistently defend this ridiculous notion of opposite sex heterosexual friendships. Once another person comes in the picture for either person that same person then moves on, unless it's another friends with benefits situation.

      Either way this never works. If there is sex or sexual attractions, there will be sexual tension. Its always hilarious to hear female reasoning about how "we're just friends". Well why isn't he friends with the 300 lb woman, she's even more lonely? Always good looking women that try to rationalize this nonsense also.

      I'm a guy with long term guy friends, why is that? We're heterosexual.

      The opposite gender hetero "friend" argument is such a dumb argument, that so many people on this website constantly argue for....

    You're fucking your bestfriend that you love?! Idk how this could possibly go wrong. Just prepare to lose your bestfriend that you clearly have feelings for that go beyond what is acceptable in a friendship. Fwbs never work.

    it would be great but it s rare in my opinion. the movie FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS seemed to point out that it doesn t work. i knew a guy who had a fwb in college. they were from the same home town and she didn t want others to know of her sex life. he was not to tell anyone about this but years latter he told his friends..shame on him.
