Is it normal to be frustrated with my generation?

I'm 30; and before I begin my "rant" I just want to say that I don't consider myself to be wholly than thou, know it all, or have all the answers. I however and so frustrated with my generation and the one following it. I feel we are completely complacent in all aspects. I feel that most of my generation care more about what panties a celebrity is wearing than focusing on what's going on with our government and how our country is being ran. I'm not a tea bagger or one that will protest in front of my state's capitol. but I'm so frustrated about how my state (California) and country is being ran. I get so passionate about different issues happening around the country and when I try to have a discussion about it with my friends they look at me like I have worms crawling out of my ears. It frustrated me sooooo much! My current points of interest are how John Wheeler was found murdered in a trash can (crazy how a top official in cyber security was found in a dumpster and the media is not all over it), and how a judge found a cross in the San Diego cemetery unconstitutional however a mosque is being built at ground zero WITH federal money. Anyways I know this a long post but I'm so frustrated and feel that because of our countries morals going down the tubes and complacency of my generation! Anyone else feel this way?

Be the change you want to see in this world! It's not just a clever line to put at the bottom of your email. If you are frustrated, stand up and do something about it.

If you are not outraged, you are not paying attention.

I know, California is having issues and they are not alone. This is when you quit your bitchin and organize.

Every single generation is like that. The reason you may look back upon the generation of, say, the 60s/70s and see how great they were is only because history only remembers the interesting bits!
We remember Hendrix, Bowie, Allen Ginsberg, etc because they're worth remembering! Most of the people then were as mindless and dull as all of us. In the future someone will look back at the current generations and think about how great we are. We've done great things, just think about all that's happened in the past 10 years.

I feel the same passion you do about what's happening right before our eyes. I also feel angry about current events throughout this world, but how corporations manage to over run these critical facts with reality shows depicting people hardly wearing anythings and drunk for millions of people in our great nation to get off on. I feel you...
