Is it normal to be fascinated by super-families?

I'm oddly very interested in super-families like the Duggars, Bates, and Heppners. Not out of admiration, mind you but rather befuddlement. What would make a person tick like that to have so many offspring? Yes, religion was a big part of it, I'm sure but I think there's some abnormality in the brain that causes this. No sane person would have 5+ kids. It's hard enough for even sane people to have normal families of 1-4 kids.

  • I know this is a terrible thing to say. But I'd seriously consider running off if I woke up tomorrow and had 4 whiny kids.

    • It's people who interpret passages in the bible literally, "be fruitful and multiply".

It is absolutely irresponsible in this day and age to have more than two children, biologically. If someone wants a big family, then after 2, they can be responsible adults and adopt.

One of the thoughts that pops into my head is what this person's body looks like after popping out so many kids year after year, then I feel nauseous imagining all the extra stretchmarks and cellulite. I know it's a fucked up, judgmental, stupid thought and I shouldn't be thinking it, but it pops up for whatever reason.
