Is it normal to be extremely jealous of my boyfriend's xbox?

Seriously. I don't ever say anything because that sounds crazy. It's a GAME for crying out loud... yet I sometimes want to just smash the thing so maybe for once my boyfriend would notice that he actually HAS a girlfriend! I'm tired of missing him all the time, when i know he's just on the couch. in a gaming coma... GRH ITS SO FRUSTRATING. is it normal?

    Wanna get him away from his xbox? Walk in front of him while he's playing and start stripping off your clothes. If that doesn't get his attention, then you've got yourself a crappy boyfriend.

      This is a silly thing to say. When a guy is in "game mode" an entire harem of nude women could walk in front of him and all he will do is tell them to gtfo so he can beat this level. My boyfriend is like this with his PS3 on certain days but he IS NOT at all, by any means, a "crappy boyfriend". It just means that I am dating a hardcore gamer and need to learn to deal with what comes with dating a guy like that.

      If she really wants to get his attention she should suggest that they play a game together. Even she isn't very good at it, she can ask him to teach her. Most gamer guys love it when their lady picks up the controller, I know mine does. He loves teaching me how to play new games, it makes him feel manly, leading his "helpless" woman into the world of gaming and teaching her how to survive there and win! Its a great way to bond with each other and make a friend out of what was once perceived at the enemy (the game console that is).

      Of course their has to be balance though. If he is only playing Xbox and never paying her any attention or if their sex life is suffering because of it than maybe he has a gaming addiction and needs to seek professional help.

      But what she needs to realize is that this is just the way some guys are. You can't even say that one day he will grow out of it because there are many fully grown men who love video games! She either needs to learn to accept this behaviour and find a way to deal with it or move on to a guy who doesn't play video games.

    Ugh that's depressing. I used to play Xbox like crazy when I had a girlfriend and she'd always get jealous of it too. Now I would smash my own Xbox to have a girlfriend lol.

    OMG I never considered it from a gf or bf point of view but every parent I know say it is the worst thing that they have ever brought into their homes!

    Many have been trailed out of the wall and dumped in bins while others have been smashed on concrete ground.

    Not only does it destroy their social lives, but the kids' change beyond recognition being rude to their parents etc. Dry eyes also lead to 'the blink' which takes more than 3 weeks to clear up!

    Tell this lad to meet you out somewhere so that he can't be on it but whatever you do, don't you waste your life being ignored. You will live to regret all those wasted hours while you are so young and should be out enjoying yourself!

    Lead by example. You get a life and maybe he will do likewise. Fingers crossed!

    that's what happened with my bf, but i played xbox with him. (: that helped, try playing or watching...if you don't like that, then just talk to him about it (:
