Is it normal to be extremely depressed after re-homing a litter of kittens?

My cat had 5 kittens in October and I just found them all homes. I became really attached to them and now that they are gone I am incredibly depressed. The house feels so empty and it has been making feel like sh!t for days. Is this normal?

Think of it another way, you and their mother did a great job rearing & finding new homes for them.
They have now grown up & gone to live happy, fruitful lives as well as to give happiness to their new owners.

Yes it is normal, my grandfather had a queen & she had 3 litters, we were all upset when they found new homes.

That is the way it is, they grow up & fly the nest.

see,i have been trying to say pet owners are using animals as substitute humans for years and the pet owners all get hostile . those cats are only surviving your captivity , you didnt raise them , they had a mother and it was a cat .

    • I mean I didn't really feel like I was their mother, but yes I think I definitely substitute animal interaction for human interaction. It was more like feeling they were friends or family, and I'm just missing their presence and personalities. I'm not as depressed now as I was when I wrote this.
