Yesterday I saw two gay guys holding hands in public. Of course, I'm used to seeing normal couples in public but I'm not used to seeing this type of thing and to be honest it kind of disgusted me. Is this normal?
As a kid, I used to cringe slighted or think that two men being together was weird. The odd thing is that I don't think I ever had that reaction towards women being with other females.
Your reaction is not normal. My reaction as a child wasn't normal. Your disgust shows that you are ignorant. Is it normal to be ignorant? No, it's not.
I moved in next to two gay guys when I was 9, and was freaked out when I saw them kiss. I don't think I knew that homosexuality existed until then. Unfortunately, I think alot of people will say it is normal to be disgusted, and that's just intolerant. Some people have that reaction because of the way they were raised, some are generally just hateful people, and sometimes you just lack the life experience to realize that a couple is a couple and gender, race, and (legal) age difference are immaterial. My cousin and her girlfriend are both expecting babies by her husband. They are a "triad." They shit they take from people and the shit their kids will have to endure because of their sexual preference makes my heart ache. They are not hurting anyone. They just don't fit the average American's definition of "normal." If you're disgusted, I guess it's understandable, but I genuinely hope you don't show it. We are all individuals; no two people the same. It's unfair to judge others for being different, but it's kind of human nature, so just keep any negativity to yourself.... And steer clear of Fire Island, Miami Beach, Provincetown, Palm Springs, San Fran, etc.

That's nonsense. I absolutely tolerate gay couples 100%, but when I see a gay couple kissing (this exclusively applies to males), I nonetheless AM disgusted. I can't help it. I just happen to be very straight. Sorry about that.
I think they have the right. It's not public sex, It's holding hands. It's like burning a white guy for dating an african american woman. You can't help who you love.
Holding hands isn't so bad but i hate watching people (not just gays) in public kissing.
Societal norms change over time. Don't be surprised if people will start marrying animals in the future. They will just say "what's wrong with it?"
I'm not a homophobe at all... but any couple kissing in public I don't like. Holding hands, yeah that's fine.
It is disgusting. Most gays make a point of holding hands, etc. in public because they're exhibitionists and consciously set out to antagonize people. Then, if someone says something, they can claim discrimination and get even more attention!

Read it again, Jesus himself never condemned homosexuality. The first person Jesus saved was a gay man. Also, read up on Jonothan & David.

I'm gay. And it makes me feel weird when anyone kisses in public. But to be against a couple of one gender kissing in public is ignorant.
And it would seem that most men on this iin question don't see the problem with women but only men kissing in public...
They are just holding hands. It is not like they are kissing. Would you care if you saw a straight couple making out? I don't see how its normal for anyone to be offended at two people holding hands. Children do this in kindergarten. Are you offended by children playing? Well I am sure no one wants you around there children either you hateful bastard. You sound like a complete dick. I don't like seing gays show their love in public either, but what'cha gonna' do? I just ignore the whole thing. I have my girlfriend. I'm in a relationship, so I don't care about other people's business.
Yes, they are the most disgusting thing in the world. in my country if we notice gay couple like that in public we'll beat them or burn them. but this stupid white coutries are very support for gays.

Even though I'm bisexual, I considered it "weird" as a child, but I got over it and accepted it.
Now I actually think that gay couples are cute.
