I HATE IT when I hear teenagers talk about wanting birth control or a gynecologist but don't bother because they are afraid of what parents might think. SEX IS A NATURAL HUMAN DESIRE! Why is there so much stigma? It's a beautiful healthy thing.'

I don't understand why people think it's natural to wait until marriage...when in reality, it's completely unnatural! Sex is essential to a healthy relationship and can help two people bond. Plus, it's good for your cardiovascular health and orgasms are good for your hair and skin.

Why the stigma? Even with dress codes, we all have the same body parts! Why do people get arrested for indecent exposure? About 50% of us have penises while the other half has vaginas and boobs.

    When people got married at 16, it was totally normal to abstain from sex until marriage. Somehow, this idea didn't evolve with the rest of society.

    But there always has, and always will be people in this world who think they know what is best for others. Just because they can speak louder, does not make them right.

    Sex is not beautiful. It's possibly the most grotesque function of a human.

    Sex helps people bond because of the release of controlling chemicals in the brain.

    It may not be natural to abstain, but shit, shampoo isn't natural. The internet isn't natural.
    Humans don't do natural.
    Unless of course it comes to sex. Fucking hypocritical humans.

    You do know that girls get birth control sometimes well to have sex and not get pregnant.....usually BEFORE marriage.

    What's so disgusting about wanting birth control?

    Abstinence is quite dumb but whatever if people want to hold back natural urges it's their issue not mine.

      I didn't say birth control was disgusting. I'm talking about teenagers who have sex, want to be on birth control, but don't go on it because they are afraid to talk to a doctor about it. Or their parents.

      I don't think it would be a bad idea for schools to offer resources where students can obtain contraceptives. Some people hate it because it would "promote sex" but what's the point anyway? People promote abstinence because they don't want pregnancy nor STDs affecting teens. Contraceptives ALSO WORK. At this point, I feel like some adults just don't want children having sex and it's because they are either afraid of them growing up too fast or have other religious motivations.

      I don't think "growing up too fast" is that bad of a thing. Ignorance and naivety are the last things that we should be incorporating into society.

        Yes and I am totally sure that 16 year old can support a child when they are not out of school and not with a job that can afford both of them. In which case they must put the baby up for adoption or kill it(Abortion) since they are not fit for raising a child. Though forget about that. Lets just tell every fucking 11 year old to do it and not think about the consequences of thier actions. Its attitudes like this that create pregnant mothers too young to raise the child and are running up STDS. THINK BEFORE YOU POKE IT, AND THINK BEFORE YOU GET POKED. Do I want to deal with the consequences of this action? THINK! Sex might be a natural desire but we should be smart enough to THINK before we act! Are you just a dog fucking anyone that walks path? Or do you have enough brain to think "Maybe I should not do this... or protect myself when I do it?" Not just "EVERYONE LETS FUCK!" Instead why not teach responsibility and responsible sex. Not fuck whoever without thinking you fucking twit.

    Abstinence until wedding was to make sure that the kids born from that woman would be yours.

    And as said above, at this time people were getting married by 16.

    Abstinence has been shown not to work time and again. It is one of the worst things you could possibly teach to teenagers and it shouldn't be allowed to replace education about contraception.

      Totally!! They make it out like sex is a bad thing. The act, in itself, isn't bad at all!

      I just wish they could teach teenagers about the possible emotional consequences of sex. If you are having sex for reasons other than pure physical pleasure, then you shouldn't be doing it at all.

    If they're safe about it, it's no big deal. No teenager should be pressured into it, but teens rebel. That's just the way things are.

    Stigmatizing it forces it underground, making it more dangerous and, well, pregnant.

    well you know, it all boils down to the fact that sex is about choice. we all have a choice, if you dont want to wait, dont, if they do, they can. and you have to deal with people promoting abstinence. Because EVERYTHING now a days promotes sex in some way haha, even gum commercials for god's sake.

    just do what you do, and dont think about anything else! Personally, i couldnt wait either :P aha

    Pretending that absitence is possible for today's society is never going to help anyone. I am Christian and I am disgusted by the way that some churched promote abstinence when it is actively damaging the lives of many teenagers, and giving Christianity a bad name.
