Is it normal to be completely intolerant of intolerant people?
I go completely off the rails when I read someone post that "being gay goes against nature", or that "I hate X group of people (Jews, Muslims, Asians or blacks, etc.)" for no good reason, not that there is ever any good reason to hate a whole group of people.
Intolerant of intolerant people. You know, quite a field day Quine would have with that.
So, an old American Indian proverb for you: "Never criticize a man until you've walked a mile in his moccasins." Remember, if you were whomever these intolerant persons were, you would probably act the same. Unless these people are con artists, which I doubt they are, they probably know not what they do is, supposing it is, wrong, unjust, unrighteous, et cetera, or, perhaps by their rearing or by their manipulation by another, that what they think right, just, righteous, et cetera, is not actually right, just, righteous, et cetera. They are likely victims as much as you are their victim.
Building on DubstepismyMJ, it is a waste to dwell on this. If you truly want to balance their evil, start by looking at the world around you and understanding the nature of its evil, and if you do, I urge you always remind yourself of the basic sovereign human dignity each person ought be afforded no matter their travesty as even our greatest tragedies are surely born from an even greater one.
I can see why this would get you labelled as a hypocrite, etc., but when someone is spewing out racist, sexist, homophobic bile, it *is* hard to tolerate. I understand.
You should spend less time hating them and more time laughing at them, ride by flip 'em off for five seconds and laugh about it for five minutes. Good for the soul. If you spend just as much time on hatred as they do it doesnt really make you any better of a person.
Thats a waste of your energy and time. its not wise to dwell on it. Just understand we all have intellectual limits. And the enviroment they grew up in also plays a roll.
If you think about it, its not really their fault. Their just dealt with bad cards.
Its natural human ignorance.
No point in getting mad. Millions more where that came from. You can get mad forever or not give a single ounce of your care.
Yes I hate them too but most people on this site seem to attack one group or another. Despite the fact guidelines say not to use your posts to do this. "I hate Christians, gays, blacks, Asians, men, women ecs". Many don't really have any legitimate reason for hating they are simply offended by the fact someone prays for their food or has darker skin they were born with. Checked their site and saw the UK dates were to be added later, next time I checked they were sold out, I'm gutted haha, seeing them return. is a once in a lifetime kind of thing
Aww man, that sucks. Same thing happened when I went on the site, so I kept refreshing the page like a madman and managed to get tickets. Hopefully they'll do more touring, though!

And I think they will, touring was always a problem for Jeff before but even before the reunion he was doing acoustic sets so I think we'll see them do another tour.
And if they only tour in America I've convinced my brother to fly over for a gig just in case.
I'm sort of surprised I managed to get a ticket, I'm so bad at it. Tried to get some to see Suede, and then had to go on one of those sited that sells them for like double face value. Still got to see them live, though, so I guess it was worth it. Swindling bastards!:P

You do understand that to be intolerant of intolerance makes you a hypocrite and no better than the ones you despise.

I'm tolerant of pretty much everything except intolerance, violence, and cruelty of any kind. The post a while back that said deformed people don't have feelings was sickening. I did NOT flip out on the OP I literally said nothing but "that's terrible" and I got downvoted OMG that made me so mad!!! I said how I felt about it, threw in a few swears and still got downvoted. Then I explained in a calm and mature way and got downvoted AGAIN!!!! Don't bloody talk down to me, I am a mature adult unlike a certain person this site seems to glorify (not saying everyone here, generalizations are not nice)
In my Kingdom screaming children are not tolerated, we put them in the sedation room, And gas comes out, and they are sedated. And my Migraine is gone.
I don't see the OP "hating" anyone, but only intolerant of intolerance.
But to hate any group for the actions of a few, seems very foolish to me.
I hate what the Christians have done to aboriginal peoples I have met around the world, but only feel pity for those who are Christians, not hate. On my stop in Saudi Arabia, while sailing up the Red Sea, I found them to be the most hospitable people I ever encountered, anywhere. But the radicals give all Muslims a bad name; a shame.
If we could all base our opinions on personal experiences, rather than on the propaganda of CNN and their ilk, or on urban legends, or even the brainwashing from our parents and schooling, this world might be a lot different place.
What a hypocrite he hates people for being intolerant but hes intolerant of the intolerant people which makes him intolerant which is what hes against.
