Is it normal to be bad at japanese stuff?

Like not be able to shape a perfect rice ball, not able to follow the instructions in Origami and not able to speak Japanese perfectly? Do any people struggle with this or do most people pick this all up quickly and not figuring it out makes you a complete idiot? Also before anyone asks this "No I am not Japanese or living in japan".

If you're not Japanese, then yeah - it's very normal.

Why are you so concerned about your malformed balls?

Can you rape school girls with your tentacles?

Normal. Even Japanese people have difficulty with learning something new. It takes practice unless you happen to be a fast learner or a prodigy.

Being a prodigy doesn't mean you can aquire a new skill with no practice, it simply means that less of it is needed to achieve the same standard as someone with normal learning speed.

I am aware of what a prodigy is. My apologies, if my comment came off as otherwise.

I got a grain of sand caught in my jap-eye trying to make sushi rolls with my penis. I had to commit fapuku to blow it out

I'm half Japanese and I'm bad at Japanese stuff. Except eating Japanese food, I'm good at that. I had to sign my name in Japanese on a passport paper, I practiced for an hour the night before and it still looked like a child wrote it.

Don't worry! Keep practicing! I am terrible at origami, but I tried until I got it right! Or... just move on to drawing manga! Hehe... I started drawing it since I was 5 and my first anime was when I was 6... and it was NOT age appropriate.

Or make sushi instead of rice balls! Oh! I know a tutorial on how to make some super creative rice balls! It's on youtube... Feast of Fantasy. There are so many foods based on video games, shows, and books.

Glad to hear you're not Japanese. If you were I'd say you have shamed your family and now must carve out your own entrails to restore your families honour.

This why prefer Spanish and German. I would also love to learn to speak Italian or maybe French. I wouldn't say that I can speak much of either Spanish or German but I studied those two languages when I was younger.

I do, however, love Sushi but I don't care for the overly patriarchal and sometimes painfully polite aspects of Japanese culture. I also tend to be more concerned with individuals than society as a whole. My favorite type of Japanese man is freakishly tall, silly and not regimented.

'Course it's normal. I find lots of Japanese things to be hard to do, or I don't get the point. Either way I know one thing... I love sushi and I know a japanese girl in my dorms that makes great sushi!

I have mastered both phonetic kana alphabets (hiragana and katakana) plus the first hundred or so kanji, but the more I learn about Japanese culture, the more distant and intangible it seems.

I was just saying to my friend the other day that everything Japanese seems so difficult and orderly, not that it takes away from some of their beautiful customs and language.

    • Well I thought so too but whenever I cant do it perfectly I get made fun of. So I wasn't sure if it was just me or if other people struggle.
