Is it normal to be attracted to a group of people this way?

Basically, I have a group of friends - or close enough - who I normally hang around with. However, I have been avoiding them lately because a) one or two of them are beginning to annoy me and b) a specific one of them has been saying things to/about me for a while which I don't like. There is another group of people (who know about the girl who has been being mean to me) who have said I am always welcome to hang around with them, however I don't feel like I belong. I know they will welcome me and I can talk to them about anything (something I never seemed to have with my old friends) and, although I never feel like I fit in when I am with them, I always want to go and hang around with them, and I don't know why. I'll watch them in class and want to talk to them (any one of them, not just a specific member of the group), not about any issues or anything, just as friends. However when I am with them I am always uncomfortable and feel unwelcome. IIN?

  • Yes it's normal, just give it some time - like a few months or so, then they'll start feeling like your own group of friends. Good friendships take time.

Yes, we worry so much about fitting in. Oldies have it figured out - they realise it just doesn.t matter so much. Enjoy people, be tolerant of them and of difference, but if people treat you badly - walk away. No-one has the right to treat you badly
