Is it normal to be attracted to a fictional character?

My problem is simple. I am attracted to a fictional Star Wars character called Ahsoka Tano. Sometimes I meditate, put myself in a dream state, and imagine myself with her in the Star Wars universe and with force powers. Specifically, I like to imagine Ahsoka and I flying around saving the universe.

Am I so attracted to her because she has many of the same traits I imagine myself to have? I like to help people, and so does she. She has a kind giving personality, as do I. Keeping in line with my constant urge to help people, I work as a medic. I am an average 20 year old male and I haven't dated since I was 18. Or, perhaps, do I have these feelings because I am lonely?

Anyways, is it normal to be attracted to and to fantasize about a fictional character that you know you can never be with? Share your thoughts.

    if you have a serious crush that's not really normal..but if you just think she's cute that's fine. i think kenshin himura from rurouni kenshin is kinda cute, but i don't really mean that in a crush way. i just mean his faces are so funny and cute, and sometimes he just looks like he needs a hug..haha (if you've never heard of rurouni kenshin, google it)

    Hi :) so honestly, I used to have a crush on vegeta from dragonball z but that WAS a while ago and I never went as far as fantasizing about him haha
    Maybe find a girl? If you end up liking the character more than an actual girl, then I would say that kinda crosses the normal line

    Well I had a crush on Mr.Darcy in Pride and Prejudice when I was younger, so I guess it's normal then.
    Loneliness may be one reason, or it can just be that you have good imagination ability :)

    I definitely think it's normal in that it happens a lot, but I think the reasons can be different for everybody.

    Normal. I mean, I really like a lot of fictional characters. I even have a list. I do imagine too. :) I even have friends who are also obsessed with fictional characters. :) We all have that thing in us.

    Yeah, it's normal. Where do you think hentai comes from? (BTW, that was a phase my bro went through. I don't mind the stuff, but I've never really preferred it)

    Totally normal. I am a girl and when I read the twilight saga, I totally fell in love with Edward Cullen lol!!!! And he is probably as fictional as it can get hon ;)
