Is it normal to be attached to dvd collection??

My GF is doing this major inventory of my things. She lives a spartan lifestyle, I'm fairly neat to cluttery most of the time. Lately I've been trying to be the former but the thing is every time I try to raise the bar with neatness she gets this strange control freaky thing with telling me to get rid of what I perceive to be fond memories inspite not revisiting them. So is it normal for Me to want to keep my DVDs even though I don't watch them or should I listen to the GF and sell them somewhere. Do I have a hoarding problem?

Hey women have 50+ pairs of shoes that they never wear that are probably worth more than your DVD collection

Do you think putting them in a storage place would help? Out of site out of mind theory?

Why not just digitize your DVD collection? Are you more attached to the movies or the DVDs themselves? I don't have DVDs anymore- only a digital collection on a large 2 terabyte external hard drive.

Keep it, but keep it neat and organized.

You shouldn't throw your things away, but perhaps organize them. What if you clean up all your things and organize them setting them up in a specific place very neat and clean? Show your girlfriend that you can still keep your DVD collection in order without having to throw it away. I'm not attached to a DVD collection, but I'm attached to my books. I will never throw them away.
