Is it normal to be aroused by a sound?

So, I'm walking home after school with my friend, and as soon as we're about to get of the street i say bye to her at, I hear this noise around me. I task her if she hears it, and then I look behind me, and it's a wind chime. The strange thing was, I was so interested in the sound. It was like, a hollow but peaceful melancholy sort of sound. It felt like the sound spoke to me, though it was hard to savvy why I was so tantalized by the sound. Of course, my best friend told me I'm a freak. LOL. Has this ever happened to anyone else but me?

Yes. It just means you are observant. The senses strike human beings with a peculiar resonance. A snatch of tune or pleasing aroma may conjure fantastic imaginary visions, as a long-forgotten flavor might breach and split memory's floodgate.

Read "Remembrance of Things Past". Your feelings of "arousal" are well-known.

Makes sense. Music causes arousal and it's nothing but sound.
