Is it normal to be annoyed when you get something without hard work?

Does anyone get annoyed when you work really hard to get something and you're almost there but then you get what you want for free or by luck? For example if as a child you spent weeks saving up for something you really want and then you almost have enough but then your parents buy it for you and even though you should be happy because you got it, it's not a good because you worked so hard and all that work meant nothing in the end.

I know what you're saying, but I disagree. I'd rather get something without trying for it, than not get it at all.

Honestly, I wouldn't know. I seriously usually always want the things that I can't have. I can't say I recall a time when I was truly striving for something that I actually got without a lot of hard work.

Actually, I guess there was one thing that I do remember wanting really bad and managing to obtain it without much effort, but it kinda backfired on me in the end.

I think with every little bit of good luck you get in obtaining whatever fortunes you might desire, comes a little bad luck too. It seems like you can't have one without the other. You might get this, but not get that. You might get that, but not this, etc. But you gotta be a damn lucky s.o.b. to be able to get your wishes without much work. Either that, or you're just spoiled.

Its good to see what you got right in front of you, anyway. Even if you might want more, or something other than what you already have. See the worth in everything, and especially in the things you have right before your eyes.

When I saw the title...I was thinking of the time I had no idea i had a test last semester..I just walked into class and saw everyone with their scantrons out. I got an A. It annoyed me because I did better than when I actually study. Where's the justice?!
