It annoys me when people listen to the song "Beautiful Day" by U2. It just seems like bad pop music made by a great rock band. Anyone else feel this way?

    I'm not a big fan of that one either, but it's not half a's bad as vertigo.

    I don't know. It's an alright song. I like their song one, and sweetest thing. Its a beautiful day, just reminds me of a couple things, and a few people from my past, but I have to be in the right mood when I'm listening to it.

    I think when it comes to their lyrics, they have a lot of meaning behind them. Sometimes you have to concentrate on the lyrics, because as beautiful as music is, sometimes its the words that make it.

    I'm a casual fan of U2 (and WTSHNN is a timeless masterpiece). I've always regarded Bono as a good vocalist, but Beautiful Day always has me scratching my head. In that particular song (studio version) all I hear is untrained crooning, squawking and croaking. Maybe he was suffering a health issue at the time?

    I liked U2 in the 90's. Not so much now. I don't know what the hell happened.

      They got commercial and sold themselves out to the pop industry. I hate the way they have gone - in the 90's they were a real band with a real message, now it's just dumb, senseless crap.

          Thank you! They're just in it for the fame and the $ now...in the 90s they kicked ass with thinly veiled rebel songs.
